|
|
Hi all, I was hoping that someone could help me out with a firewire delima.
Here is how the pin table is in my Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 mobo manual:
F2_1394
Pin No. Definition
1 Power
2 Power
3 TPA0+
4 TPA0-
5 GND
6 GND
7 TPB0+
8 TPB0-
9 Power
10 Power
11 TPA1+
12 TPA1-
13 GND
14 No Pin
15 TPB1+
16 TPB1-
F1_1394
Pin No. Definition
1 TPA2+
2 TPA2-
3 GND
4 GND
5 TPB2+
6 TPB2-
7 Power
8 Power
9 No Pin
10 GND
And these are the cables that I have in my Antec case for the front access
Fireware connection.
6 pin cable labels:
TPA-
TPA+
TPB+
TPB-
VP
VG
Ok, so I figured I should plug the 6 wires into the F1_1394 bank of pins,
but this is where I am confused. There are 3 ground pins, but I only have
the 1 VG wire (I'm assuming VG is a ground). I don't know what the
difference is between TPA2_ and TPA+, if any. And pin 7 and 8 are both
power, but I have one power wire on the 6 pin cable. Is this really a
simple matter and am I missing something obvious? Arg!!!
I don't care about the USB port at this time. I can use the ones in the
back. I need the Fireware port though to connect my new Ipod to. I'm
leaving for vacation this Thursday and I am desparately trying to figure
this out. Thank you SOOOOO much to anyone who can shed some light on this
mystery.
