I got my NF7 2.0 a 160GB drive and it can't seem to detect it.
Is it supposed to? Can this be fixed with a bios update? |

Mine worked fine with a Seagate 160GB IDE drive, but I've downsized to a
120GB drive to avoid Windows98 problems.
BIOS 27 is the latest
http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/bios.php?categories=1&model=124
The BIOS page above says NF7-S 2.0, that's the correct BIOS for both the
plain NF7 and the NF7-S models, REVISION 2!!
Let's make sure we're both talking about NF7, or NF7-S, revision 2!!
*NOT* revision 1 of anything, *NOT* NF7-S2, *NOT* NF7-S2G
You'll be real sorry if you flash the wrong BIOS. Lots of people have done
it, the model numbers of these boards are easily confused. |

Check the jumper on the HD. Choose Master or Slave. Be sure the other
device on the ribbon is correctly set also.

I checked the jumper, cables and everything.
BIOS detects the drive and the size it even shows up in SYSTEM DEVICES and
says it's working properly, but I just can't access it in windows explorer
what am I missing?

Check "disk management" under "computer management". You probably just
need to format it. If it's not there then remove it in the device
manager and then "scan for hardware changes".
