I'll need more info. What happens that prevents you from installing XP?

Dave , when the XP cd is loaded it starts by inspecting the system. Then
it says "loading required files ,then is says starting windows and
freezes. The first time i tried it after it loaded the files ,it said
copying files ,started windows ,was installing devices and went to a
blue scree with one little black square in the middle and the mouse
pointer in the middle of it. I refoematted the HD and tried it again
and now it will not copy the files .it just hangs up after loading
files.

Set the motherboard cmos settings to default. Check the hard drive with the
manufacturer's utility.
