|

Has anyone with an FX-series machine and an Audigy 4 soundcard had a problem with Flash audio (audio only, movies, animation, anything Flash)?
I have an FX510X with 2.4 Ghz Core 2, and a couple of Gig of RAM. Nothing special
Problem is that when playing any kind of Flash file with audio there is a VERY LOUD "POP" in the audio about every 2 seconds. On several other machines I own, the same files play clean. Even after the Flash file stops, the "POPs" continue, until I close the web page.
So far, Gateway, Adobe and Creative can't manage to point the finger at the other guy fast enough. And none of them have a clue.
Anyone out there have a bright idea? _________________ -------------------------

The problem is the process dthtml.exe started by Display Tune (included in DVI video systems by Gateway as "EZTune"). This process kicks something off every 2-2.5s or so, and every time it does, the audio CLICKS.
It can cause loud clicks when mouse clicking on any item that generates a system sound, and causes loud clicks anytime a web page with embedded Flash is active.
It may not affect every system, but if you have a similar problem and are using EZTune, SHUT IT DOWN and make sure the process dthtml.exe is also shut down.
EZTune (Display Tune) is sold by Portrait Systems, Inc. _________________ -------------------------

The HTML.EXE process is the EzTune software. The CPU usage is the
software checking to see if the monitor has been repositioned to the
portrait mode. You can eliminate the CPU usage by turning off the Auto
Pivot fuction in EzTune. This allows you to continue to use the
program without the interruption to the audio which seems to occur on a
few systems. You can manually rotate the montior by using the Hot Keys
if you do need to roate to Portrait mode.
