In case anyone is having a similar problem, I wanted to post a solution
that worked for me.
THE PROBLEM:
IBM PC Camera made my Xirlink came with a software installation disc
that will not intall on XP systems. It claims to require Win98 or
other OS.
THE SOLUTION (that worked for me)
First, I searched Google for "IBM PC Camera, and I found 2 useful
sites. Download and install the file: ibmksxx9903xp.exe from this
site: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=86443
.. It's a pain in the butt to get to the file since you have to
register on the site, but worth it. Give limited or incorrect
information if you want...and don't sign up for any of the "Free"
offers. Make sure to give a good email account though - cuz they
require you to verify it. I just gave a junk yahoo account in case it
was a spam site.
Anyway, after installing that file which will actually install the
Camera's program on your computer and put an icon on your desktop, see
this site:
http://www.camerahacker.com/WebCam/IBM_PC_Camera.shtml
Without going through the procedures on this site, I still got an error
when i tried to start the program for the first time.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps.
Happy Cam-ing!
