Hi guy's

I'll try not to make this too drawen out,but I'm pulling my hair out here.

I've been three days now tring to fix my black screen problem,I'm sure I could have fixed it days ago....but I can't see any thing on the monitor but black,so I've been using MS narrator to try and hear what I'm doing(but I'm not experienced enough to fix it blind)...and everything else I have tried seems to be a road block also.

It all started when I unistalled the ati 9550 drivers,I figured it would roll back to a standard vga driver, and I would reboot and install new divers....boy was I wrong frown

I tried using narrator to go into advanced settings, but I hit the advanced tab and it doesn't do anything.
So far it's been nothing but roadblocks, can't start XP in safemode, cause it hangs on system32\drivers\mup.sys.
When I load in vga mode,it loads to the normal black screen.
I've tried every option on the f5 screen and it boots one of those two ways.
I tried booting from the XP disc from f8....says I don't have a working hard drive(or something to that effect),why it tells me this I have no idea(cause it's there working fine).
Tried loading in windows(with narrator),but promts me for CD key,and yet another problem,I bought a custum built machine...and the XP CD I have came glued to a small card board info book thing, and I can't find a CD key on it any place.

I put the GeForce 5200,out of my old computer in it,and it worked....untill I updated the drivers for that card, now it black screens too.
Looked around in the BIOS,did't see anything I could use there.
Don't have onboard video...so thats not an option.
Looked all over the web for answers,no luck....did find some old threads with the same problem, but no answers on how they fixed it,or it fell into one of the catagorys above that I can't get to work.
Everything seems to be there and working....I just can't see it.

I don't know what to do now....it's about got me stumped

Any one had this happen...or have any other ideas on how to fix it?

problem computer spec's

Asus a7v880 mother board
ADM athlon 3000+ "2158/mhz"
DDR 1024mb
ATI Radon 9550
WindowsXP sp2

Thanks
Tom
