We have an old compaq server with 9.1GB Wide Ultra Disks.
One of them failed, we need to replace it, however such disk aren't
sold anymore.
Is it possible to connect a new Ultra320 to a Wide Ultra host ?

Thanks.

Jumper the drive to use SE mode and don't put the drive on the end of the bus. The new drive will not have built in termination so you should have an old Ultra Wide drive on the end of the bus and use its termination.

Hi,

Thanks for the answers.
I forgot to mention that the disk is in a RAID array.
Does this matter in terms of compatibility ?

Thanks.

If your RAID controller is not finicky this will not be a problem. The only requirement for RAID is the partitions must be the same size.

That's usually not necessary unless you have odd cabling without the diffsens
signal connected or have an oddball controller that doesn't ground that signal.

It's fine if there was a terminator there already, which there will be
if the old disks didn't have onboard termination either.

Or not.
