TW cable in NYC.

I've been noticing a lag between clicking on a url, or a
link and the site or web page starting to load. The bottom
of the taskbar says "waiting for" and then the name of the url.

I'm using Win XP Pro - updated, Linksys router (wired for
this computer) and Firefox. I've tried using IE and I seem
to get the same "waiting for".

I've been using Treewalk - but I tried with and without it
(using my normal isp lookup) and the same problem persists.

I've run several spyware and adware programs and my AV - all
seems clean. I've emptied the cache - no difference.

What causes "waiting for" and what can I do about it?

TIA

Louise
