Greetings all
Despite my 20 years in media conversion, I've only rarely met DLT media.
I now need to make a quotation to a potential customer, who wants to copy
200 tapes, mixed densities.
At present, I have the following drives, where the ident was tapen from the
Adaptecs CTRL-A function
- Compaq DLT8000
- DEC DLT2000
- TZ85 (label on the drive)
Will I be able to copy the following types/densities, eventually via a
temporary file on disk :
DLT 20/40
DLT 35/70
DLT 40/70/80
DLT III XT 15/30
DLT IV 20/40
DLT IV 35/70
DLT IV 40/80
Thanks for your help

Yes, with the DLT8000
Yes, with the DLT8000
Yes, with the DLT8000
Yes, with the DLT8000 or DLT2000 (DLT IIIXT is native to the 2000)
Same as 1
Same as 2
Same as 3
The TZ85 is an antique. You'll only need it if you require to read
DLTIII (not DLTIIIXT) tapes.
There's a nice DLT media compatability tool at:
