Hello All
I have a Gateway 7320GZ laptop with a 15.4 inch widescreen LCD. The problem
is every time I open photographs, they are terribly distorted so that the
width is way too much. The screen is set to 1024 *768. It doesn't matter
which software I open photos in ... Irfanview,MS Photoeditor, anything.
Is this a funtion of the wdescreen, or is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

I rather doubt that 1024x768 is the optimum resolution for a wide-screen LCD
notebook. Check the specs on the computer, change the resolution to the
optimum, and the distortion will go away.
The problem is caused by the graphics driver stretching each pixel to make it
wider, in effect, stretching the 1024 pixel width to something wider like 1280.

1024x768 shouldn't be the correct resolution for a widescreen display, should
it?
I would think it should be something like 960x600 or 1280x720, or 1600x900 if it
will go that high..

You can't believe everythibg you read, but one on-line review of the 7320GZ
stated that the screeen resolution was 1280x800. This would surely explain why
pixels were stretched at 1024x768... Ben Myers
