Hey gang,

I seem to have finally, after a few months, gotten my system stable. Mainly,
by upping the voltage on my Corsair ram go 2.8v

Now, I am ready to start tweaking this puppy.

System :
MSI K8N Neo4 Plat mb
Athlon X2 4400+ dual core
2 gb Corsair 3500LL Pro dual channel ram ( 2x1gb)
Saphire X850XT PCIe video card

I am pretty much running at optimized defaults, with the exception of the
ram voltage.

I would like to start overclocking the system, any suggestions on some of
the bios settings would be greatly appreciated.
I take it, I want to tweak the memory settings, the bus speed, and lower the
HT?

Thanks,

That's it in a nutshell. Might consider raising cpu voltage if needed.

Here's a pretty exhaustive thread on overclocking an A64 system:
http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=327.
That thread talks a lot of tweaks enabled particularly in the bios of
O/C-friendly DFI mobos, but by using the utility A64 Tweaker (v.0.31) I've
been able to tweak those same memory settings otherwhise not possible on my
MSI K8N Diamond Platinum (from within Windows).
With A64 Tweaker you can really tweak any setting in your memory modules
otherwhise not possible in 'normal' bios, like memory frequency 183 MHz,
which helped me max out my memory performance!
Another useful utility for overclocking 'on-the-fly' from within Windows is
ClockGen.

I have my A64 4600 X2 running stable at 2808 MHz for some months (default
2400 MHz). Have been higher, but I think it's my memory modules 2x512 Mb
Kingston HyperX PC3200 holding me back to run stable at higher.
I have set my CPU O/C settings in bios and additional memory tweaks in A64
Tweaker v.0.31 to load at startup.
