I think these will run quite happily from about 6 to 12V a power unit capable of producing 1 amp should be quite ample.
There are only two things to watch out for, the size of the connector plug jack that connects the power to the unit and the polarity... thats is the positive (+) and negative (-) must be the correct way round.
There is usually a little indication of this either on the original power unit or a diagram near the input socket.

An easier way is to take the unit into a electronic store... Tandy, Radio Shack & Mouser springs to mind there are many others depending on your locality, doing this you are sure to get a suitable one.

Would be intrested in know what happened with your Mini Me system?
Was it an Intel one or The AMD one?
What kind of things did you have in it to kill the power supply.
Running a 300NR for almost 2 years only recently added a FX5200 Card..
Don't think the volt readings are too low from the USDM tool.
