I have a 3com office connect 56K modem.... it auto dials to a 7 digit
area code. That is now a 10 digit code

Here's the problem when I try and access the modem via a browswer
(http://192.168.1.1) I get page not found I know the IP is correct as I
can ping the modem successfully and it shows as the default gateway
from each of the machines..

Any idea on how I can get to the admin screens (I tried the LAN desktop
mgr on the CD and it just launches a browser with the same IP - WOW
helpful ;-)!!! )

Any help is appreciated!!!! TIA

From the User manual at 3com

http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/remote/lanmodem/56/dual/dual_ug.pdf

there is an alternate URL to try

Upon initial setup, launching
the Web browser does not
start the configuration process
(the welcome message does
not appear).
Your Web browser needs the IP
address of the Dual 56K LAN
Modem.
Or, the browser is not set to a
default start page.
Enter the following URLs in your Web browser:
http://192.168.1.1. Alternatively, you can enter
http://3com.oc.lanmodem.
