|
|
List to date
Bad - won't use again
Xprint 3eBK runs and feathers like hell (don't think it was pigment)
Inkjetcartridge.com C64. - 3 emptied or leaked overnight
Questionable - you decide
G&G - Good colour match but occasionally may leak
Good - recommended
Printrite
MIS Associates
Atlanticinkjet.com
Maxpatchink.com
Calidad and Premier cartridges (C64)
Gemini Colours B.V.
Filljet
Ink4inkjets.com.
Hobbicolors
Printpal.com
Inktec (Refill's)
Hope I have this correct folks... if any manufacturer don't like this - tough luck, give us a fair deal and stop ruining our printers.
Keep em coming folks.... we want more
This post is a spin off from a earlier posting and hopefully when enough data has been gathered we'll try and produce a list of..... The Good the Bad and the Ugly ones.
So please lets us know what ink you use and don't use and WHY... hopefully we'll try and make a list of inks for all too see.
In this post we are only interested in knowing.... what ink you use and don't use and why.
There ARE good and crap stuff knocking about as I have discovered.. so here goes...... I say Xprint is crap, the pigment black 3eBK replacement ran and feathered like hell so out it came ... in went OEM and perfect.
I've tried to start the ball rolling and now it's up to YOU to help to complie a list of the.... Good the Bad and the Ugly.

inkjetcartridge.com -- bad
Cartridges for Epson C-64 were empty or leaked out overnight in the printer.
They never sent the return envelope.
maxpatchink.com -- good
Very helpful. Calidad and Premier cartridges worked ok in Epson C-64.

I've used inks from atlanticinkjet.com (separate US/Canadian divisions)
the longest and they're good.
Right now I'm using color inks from hobbicolors.com and BCI-3eBk
(pigmented) from atlanticinkjet.com with excellent results.
I believe HobbiColors only sells inks for Canon printers at the moment.
Atlantic Inkjet is full service (all printers, even the new Canon 4200,
5200 series).
I would like to try alotofthings.com but they don't ship out of the USA.

Thanks for input Mikey.
What I am hoping to do is get as many good and bad ink brands together so we can do a edit and do a good and bad list for all to see.
Not interested in,"I told you so" comments and "you don't know what you are buying", for all I care it could be flea water, it either work's or it don't & it's either good or it's bad.... refill kits included...!
Thanks for all responses so far...

BTW Maxpatch's guarantee is one year and if you subscribe to the newsletter
you get a 10% discount.
They are a very responsive mom and pop store.

Goodo,
trouble is, we're getting all the good ones............ we need the crap ones as well..... surely there must be one or two have used dodgy brands.
Come think there must be load's of good and bad brands, surely all the suppliers don't all sit in a dark secluded corner...... busy fillin' by day n' fillin' by night, so who's doing it for them..?
Gee, folks I thought I'd have hundreds of replies ... bet you all use OEM on the quiet....!

I used Printrite successfully in my previous Epson printer but using
them in my new Photo R320 has involved me in a lot of head cleaning
processes, so I'm not very happy with them now.

Thanks for your input..... is it really the ink or is it the printer..? Dunno if this is of interest to you...
Print Rite inks are made by Multi-Union Trading Co Ltd of Hong Kong
See link-:

Design a nice little label give it a name like "Cloggalot" and they will fill em til your hearts content... but ya gotta pay um of course, then you can put a price on them.

I don't do anywhere near as much refilling as many of those here, and my |
requirements aren't as stringent as their's are, but I haven't really
run into any "bad" ones yet. I've been refilling HP carts, most
successfully the 56 and 57 carts for the past two years. I used an HP
612C before that, and while I refilled the black cart many times I was
rarely fully successful with the tricolor. I have always thought I just
didn't get to the tricolor cart quickly enough to prevent damage before
attempting the refill.
I've been using up the ink in a bulk "universal" refill kit I bought at
a garage sale in 2003. The name on the label was "Filljet." The kit was
labeled as "pigmented," but I suspect only the black was pigmented and
the color is probably dye-based. The kit's label proclaims that it was
"Proudly Made in the USA" and gives a Scottsdale, Arizona address. The
black worked fine until I used it up and I bought a pint of "Super
Pigmented Black Ink for HP Printers" from Ink4inkjets.com. That ink has
also been fine. Lately I've noticed that grays produced with the
tricolor cart lean toward the cyan, but other color printing looks
great. I suspect the age of the ink has something to do with it. Since I
bought it at a garage sale I have no idea how old it actually is, or how
it was stored before I got it. (I thought a deal of 75 ML of each color
for only $5 total was worth a shot, anyway.)
No clogs so far, and all prints have been satisfactory, except for the
bluish-grays mentioned above. Most of the time I don't even notice them
unless I'm looking for them.
BTW, the carts I have been refilling had been refilled by an outfit
called "LD Products" when I bought them. Except for the carts in the PSC
2110 when I got it, I have never used OEM-filled carts in it.

Thank's TJ, more input the merrier.
There must be many people out there had good or bad experience with differing brands of ink, we need more, more and more.... guess I'm just wasting my time - trying...!
