I just purchased a Gateway 200X. A few days later I also got a Logitech USB
Wireless Optical Mouse for Notebooks. Can anyone *really* use that touchpad
thing? After accidently moving some subdirectories (sorry, I grew up on DOS
and cannot bring myself to call them "folders") using the touchpad, I gave
up and got the small mouse.
Anyway, can spare parts be purchased from Gateway? Like an extra battery?
An extra AC adapter or two?
I have a Linksys Wireless G PCMCIA card plugged into this thing to access my
SOHO LAN. The device in the 200X only allows WEP encryption and the
Wireless G Router and the other two computer are set up for WPA. I refuse
to downgrade, besides, I already had the card. The Intel website says to go
get the latest driver for the internal Wireless B device from the computer
vendor to get WPA ability. Anyone have any idea if Gateway is ever going to
provide this? I've been to Support several times, but the version they have
is the same version on this computer.
Maybe I should just leave it alone and keep using the Linksys card as it is
Wireless G and the one in the computer is Wireless B (slower). I'd have to
set my Router to accept both B and G, which Linksys says will impair
performance (not that I'd notice). |

I said that touchpad gets in the way!! I wasn't ready to send that message
out yet, but I touched the touchpad with my thumb and away it went!
All I wanted to do was "sign" it at the bottom, so paste this into the
previous message,
"Thanks,
Turner" |
