Running Windows XP home on a 700 XL system that I purchased in January.

I have several USB devices - 3 cameras and a 32 MB flash drive. I plug one
of them into one of the ports on the front of the tower. After downloading
some data or images, I right-click on the icon in the Systray and release
them. An hour or so later, I am getting system freezes.

I use GoBack to revert my hard drive and the problems go away.

Are there drivers that I should update or any other ideas?

Thanks, Allen

XP Home should not need a manual release for any USB device. Simply
disconnecting the device should allow the OS to go through its own
disconnection procedure, although it can take from a few seconds to a
minute in some cases.

You should consult Event Viewer to see if there are recurring errors,
warnings, etc. that might relate to system freezes, particularly HD
write errors.

I have the same system, purchased in December.

I plug the device in, when done I unplug it. No problems. I've never
messed with the icon in the system tray.

I use a digital camera, Digital 8, and a 128 Meg flash drive in it.
