My old system monitor died before I could transfer the files I wanted, to my
Gateway system. Is there a switch[or whatever] I can buy to use my Samsung 950p
on both systems temporarily? Is there any reason this monitor might not work on
a 4 yr old system? What do I need to know? TIA...

There are keyboard-video-monitor (KVM) switches which enable one to use one of
each with two or more computers. They cost about as much as a used monitor in
good working order, say $50 to $75. I have not seen switches to handle just a
monitor, but they may exist.

The Samsung monitor should work OK on the old computer... Ben Myers

Thanks, Ben, for the prompt reply. I agree at that price I might as well get
another monitor, something easier to work with, that I could pass along with the
system when I finish.

I have another question about purchasing RAM for my present system, but I'll
start another thread, in case you miss this reply. smile
