Thinking about buying a laptop and have been looking at the 305xl.
Has anyone had any problems with them?
Thanks for any opinions.

Don, the only reason we went with a model above where you are looking
is the IO capabilities difference from one model to another plus video
capabilities (not taking processor power into account).
Here is what you are getting with the 305:
One type II, or one type III PC Card Slot
(2) USB 2.0
VGA
Parallel
headphone/speaker jack
Line In
mic jacks
Ethernet Adapter
Integrated Intel® 10/100 Ethernet Adapter
Integrated Intel® graphics with dynamic video memory technology
Here is what you get is you go up to a 450:
Two Type II or One Type III PC Card Slots
(2) USB 2.0
IEEE 1394 (FireWire)
VGA
Parallel
Serial
PS/2
headphone/speaker jack
line-in
mic jacks
Integrated Intel® PRO 10/100 VE network connection
Integrated 802.11b wireless networking card featuring Intel® Centrino
Mobile Technology
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 w/ 32MB DDR video memory
A lot more IO capabilities as you can see. If having those
capabilities are important to you then you will need to look higher
than the 305. If not and you know for sure you will never needs these
additional IO capabilities and additional video performance, then the
305 may just suit you fine.
