I have reformated the hard disk on a Celeron 466c

& newly installed Win 98 SE

"seems to work"

However, Gives error message

"EMM386 Not installed - unable to set page frame base address"

Then scrolls past message & "seems" to work.

I am selling this computer so I need to resolve this message.

Thanks

Blast from the past if ever I saw one.

From memory (excuse the pun) it goes in your config.sys something like:-

device=c:\windows\emm386.exe

I could be wrong, but it is a while ago.

Easy one to fix... rename your autoexec.bat and config.sys files to
(for example) autoexec.xxx and config.xxx. Unless you have some very
old hardware connected to your computer you don't need them - and
that's where the error is coming from.
