Hello:
All of a sudden when I boot my computer, my second hardrive(slave) does not
show up, both drives use win xp pro. After booting to primary drive, and I
do a restart, then the computer, shows both drives. Anyone know whats going
on. This is a new hard drive that gateway sent me, to replace a six month
old wd that failed. This replacement is a maxtor.

Run a Powermax test on it (download from Maxtor). You might also change the
CMOS battery.
