Bought a 710X for my son for his birthday. Ordered it with plenty of
time to arrive...needed for tomorrow.

Was orginally quoted delivery 10/30.

I still get the automated tracking that there is a part on backorder.
The salesman is ducking my daily voicemails left on his phone (for the
past 10 days) and no other department at Gateway can even give me an
idea of when this thing will be shipped.

I know I am not the first one to have this problem.

Anyone out there have an extension or email of someone in Management
that will at least return my calls.....

All I can say is GOOD LUCK, I bought my step-son a gateway LAPTOP in 2001
and it was in his name which was a big mistake. Any questions had to go
through him and when he left for Korea last year his screen was broken. I
spent 10 hours on the phone talking to only God knows how many different
people about getting this fixed AND I WAS WILLING TO PAY BECAUSE IT WAS OUR
FAULT. I gave them all my credit card info and sent it to them with phone
#'s etc. Never heard anything, called many times and got the bigtime
runaround. Finally after 30 days, many, many calls later the unit arrives
via airborne express. WITH A STICKER ON IT "OUT OF WARRANTY" REPAIR NOT
COMPLETED. This was insane, so more calls and I sent it back, again with
all the required info CC# for charges, phone #'s to be reached at and 3
weeks later it comes back, WITH A STICKER "DIFFERENT OWNER" repair not
covered under warranty. This was even more insane.
If I were you I would cancel my order get my money back and RUN to the
nearest computer store around you and have them BUILD you a computer.
I do have a number but it is at my office, I will try to post it tomorrow
but I am sorry it will be to late for your efforts, but maybe still you
will be able to talk to someone that may try to help.
This is the number of someone in SIOUX FALL, SD at their home office that
called me after I sent a nice 10 page documentation of my calls with their
employees.
I guess I should tell you I finally decided to skip fixing the screen and
bought a 19" monitor to run off of the laptop.

Don't know if this will still work but is what I used to get some
help. He has a branch specifically to help those who have not
been able to get their problem solved. Send him an e-mail or
a copy of one sent prior and see if he assigns it to his Executive
Response Team. They did a great job for me! Like "ALL" firms
there are problems but sometimes they can be resolved. Always
ask for a supervisor or keep trying to go up at least one level of
supervision.
