I listed this as off-topic because it does not concern a gateway laptop.
But this information here is so dependable, I thought I would ask it here
and hope for a reply. My battery is on it's last leg (so to speak). I have
found one by APC and all of the specs seem to match up except for the
following:

APC's battery lists the capacity at 3200 mAh
Brand X's battery list the figure of 2600 mAh on the bottom of the battery
case and I assume they refer to the same thing.

Question: Do you see any problems with the difference in the "mAh" numbers?
I am totally clueless as to what they mean. Brand X's battery is $249.00
and APC's is $149.95.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Bob

It's a rating for the life of the battery (between charges), so more is
better.

A 3.2Ah battery will run longer than a 2.6Ah battery, all else equal. It
will also likely be slightly heavier.

Thanks both of you for your answers. I guess I will go ahead and order one.
If the computer should 'blow-up' after I install it, I'll let you know. I
really do appreciate all of the dependable information I get on this
newsgroup.
