Just finished building my boss a new puter for the store but am having a
problem installed XP Pro, its a Athlon XP 2100,512Mbs corsair xms ddr 400,
Abit Nf7-s, radeon 9200 pro, 400W Codegen,80Gig WD, liteon 52-42-52 writer,
liteon 8x dvd, it formats fine but when it gets to installing xp files it
will install 5-6 then say that one cant be installed, i can hit enter to try
again and it might or might not install, it usually blue screens saying that
there has been a error and to restart, usually the problem is page file
found in unpaged area, or it says config unable to execute..anyone?

The only thing I can think of is bad WinXP CD or hard drive. Play with some
of the BIOS settings to see if helps. See if BIOS has boot sector virus
protection enabled.

I would first connect only what's required, video card, HDD and CD-ROM.

If it still fails, try a different stick of DRAM, or if it's more than one
stick, try one at a time.

Next, try WD's harddrive test software.

the xp CD is practicly brand new, only used twice, been in a case, no
scratches, sector virus protection is off, should it be on?

I experienced the same problem with my old Abit KG-7 Raid board. It
turned out to be a bad IDE controller on the motherboard which I sent
back to Abit for repair.

My guess would be motherboard or ram. What resources do you have
available to you for testing?
