Hello all,

I was thinking about buying one of these cases. The Performance II 1040B
black case. I want to know if it can mount a fan in the top HD cage like
the bottom HD cage has. I'm planning on using 4 HD's and I want fans
keeping all 4 drives nice and cool. I don't want to mount 3 in one cage,
and 1 in the other. I want 2 drives in each cage.

From everything I've read, the case doesn't come with a second HD cage fan
mount. Only the 1 in the bottom cage. Also, does it have an air filter in
front like the Performance II SX835 case has?

Thanks for any help,
Nate

Looking at the manual, it appears that you can mount a fan in front of each
cage. With two drives per cage that would be enough. Those cages are also
heat spreaders. That should give a good environment for standard drives.

On the 1040II there are two front 80mm fan mounts, one in front of the
card cage, and one in front of the lower 3.5" removable drive cage.
There is NOT a fan mount in front of the upper 3.5" removable drive
cage. Why? Because the upper to drive bays in that cage are
externally accessable (ie, the 3.5" floppy bays.)
