Building a new system with:

Albatron KX18D Pro II
Segate ST380023 SATA (80 gig)
AMD 2600+
512 Meg PC2700

Boot from Win98SE install CD. Copies files to SATA and reboots. Boot
fails - hangs (in WinInit, I think).

Added WD ATA drive, loaded Win98SE, and system boots correctly. I see
and am able to use the SATA drive.

MBoard has Silicon Graphics SATA Raid controller Sil 3112.

I am getting mixed info from Albatron. Last call said that this was a
raid controller and would only work with 2 drives, and that Win98 was
not supported. This is contradicted by material on the Silicon
Graphics web site.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Phil
