Have you checked out the Viewsonics? I have a G810 and love it ($439 shipped at
Newegg). It has a slightly finer dot pitch than the Sony, but it doesn't have a
flat screen. For that, either the G220F or P225F would be a good choice.

Philips also makes some good ones. I've a 201B and it's great.

Personally I think Sony is overpriced. If you like the display, then I'd
look for their tube (the Trinitron, which is a good one as long as the 2 or
3 horizontal wires don't bother you) in the monitor of a different brand. A
number of brands use the Trinitron tube in several of their models.

Sony makes great monitors, I have a 24" GDM-FW900 and it is the best one I have, I have a
19" Viewsonic and a 21" Nokia, the Sony is simply amazing.

Fine if you lie good, but overpriced monitors. Equally as good are the

Iiyama range and at a better price.

Ouch. I was looking at the UK new price on the E530 (£581.63) vs. the
U.S. price on the Apple ($1200-$1300). I don't think the E530 is sold
in the U.S. The F520 costs more than the Apple LCD ($1,517.00 at
<http://www.logicalplus.com/sonmulgd21in.html>). But the E540 is only
$515.
