I have just purchased a new Western Digital 80gb hard drive, I get it home,
install it as master, run FDISK, and can only achieve 10gb.
I have a PIII700, Bios detects the hard drive as 80gb. I have flashed to
the latest bios, but still no joy,

My Master drive is 40gb Maxtor, and I want the 80gb to be the slave for
movies, music ect. (jumpers are set correctly)
Even if I have the drive on it's own, I still only get 10 gig.

Is there anything I need to do???

I have an Abit BX mainboard.

Any help appreciated.

you probably have an older version of fdisk
either use the partitioning tools that came with the disk

or get the updated fdisk from microsoft

or www.bootdisk.com
