Hi all

Running a Epox 9NDA3+ NForce 3 Ultra
A64 3200+ Venice Core chip
Radeon 9800XT AGP w/artic Silencer cooler
Raptor 10k on SATA 1 for XP-SP2 boot

Overclocking the 2.0Ghz 3200+ to 2.7GHz @ 1.52 Vcore

was using some cheap Kingston Value Select PC3200
Puchased some Mushkin XP4400 (2 x 512) Ram with Samsung TCCD chips.

I don't know if the Mushkin PC4400 was bad or what but it would not
run at DDR400 or anything up to DDR500 with any combination of volts
from 2.6 to 2.8 or latencys between 2-3-3-6 to 3-5-5-10. Even lowering
the multiplier on the CPU would not help the ram pass a MemTest86
check. The ram would ALWAYS fail tests 5 and 6 in MemTest. My system
would reboot randomly no matter what I was doing. Also tried DDR
sockets 1&2 and 3&4 with the same results.

I put the Kingston value modules back in and they run fine at 225MHz
without issue in sockets 3 and 4.

Anyway, I sent the Mushkin 4400 back. I plan on ordering two 1gig
modules to replace the two 512's.

Who out there is using the 9NDA3+ with two 1gig DDR modules and what
brand/model did you get? Running my new RAM at HTT270 would be nice
but not a requirement. I would like them to run tight timings at least
up to say 230 or 240MHz though.

Was wondering if there are any brands, models or speeds to stay away
from on the Epox 9NDA3+ board using two 1 gig modules?

My Epox board is brand new (2 weeks old) PCB rev 2.2 with the latest
Epox BIOS 9-15-2005 version.

I have a lot of PCI cards and a half dozen other hard drives in the
system but I power the motherboard and cards with an Antec 400watt
power supply and everything else with a PC Power & cooling 600watt
unit.

thanks
