It all of a sudden just stopped working! (As well as my virtual drives
Alcohol 120 and Daemon Tools)
I uninstalled both imaging programs to see if this helped and also
uninstalled the burner itself (it said Code 41 was the error, the
drivers were found but not the device).
I tried reconnecting it but again the same errors.
I tried updating the dirvers as I thought that would help but
again...the driver update couldnt run because the device wasn't
detected!
Any suggestions?
I am thinking of upgrading to a DVD burner anyway but I don't want it
to be a waste of money.
Do the image mounting tools interface somehow with my actual CD burner?
Is that why they both failed to work now? Is that why all 3 drives (1
real and 2 fake) stopped responding at the same time?
If that is the case and my CD burner is broken I would just replace it
with a DVD burner....

Wow.....Thanks for the reply SMH but the wierdest thing EVER just
happened.
Recently I have found that when I am rebooting my computer it gets
stuck after the Windows XP loading screen (Black Screen) and just stays
like that. And then I restart and soetimes it's ok. But if it stops, I
take my iPod out of the dock and it automatically goes into Windows.
Well I did that some (not so smart) process of removing the iPod to get
into Windows earlier tonight. And I guess sometime after that (I didn't
realize the scenarios were linked) the CD drive stopped working...WELL!
I opened iTunes just now and saw my iPod wasn't plugged in and I
thought 'I could really do with listening to 1349's 'Hellfire' '
So I put my iPod on the dock....
*Bubble Pops Up* (Bottom right)
New HArdware Found...
The CD burner reinstalled itself as soon as the iPod connected...
I have NEVER heard anything as bizarre as this...
(Although I couldn't care less! I'm just happy my Cd drive is working
again ....back to Silent Hill)
