|
|
I still cannot find the right 64 bit drivers for USB for this board!
I've to the Nvidia site and the Tyan site. At the Tyan site I have
selected the S2895 board and looked alongside the entry for USB and
whilst there are drivers listed, there is nothing for this board and
nothing to indicate if they are for 32 or 64bit systems. Please can
anyone help me out on this?
Thanks
Richard

Richard,
I'm fairly certain the USB drivers are part of the nVidia platform
drivers. I have both a USB keyboard and a USB mouse, and both worked
*before* I added *any* of the drivers. They are still working after
adding the latest platform drivers. I also have loaded 64-bit drivers
for my mouse, and it is working through the same USB port.
I hope this helps!
Happy New Year! :-)

Dear Jim
That's interesting and exactly what I would have expected. There is
nothing on the disk headed USB drivers either for 32bit or what I am
lacking the 64bit USB drivers, and although after booting up the system
recognises the USB ports and that there is a need for these drivers,
there is nothing in the Tyan package that it recognises as the
appropriate ones. The lack of working USB ports is confirmed in T
Manager.
Cheers
Richard

Dear Jim
An update. Firstly I incorrectly typed T. Manager but meant to type
Device Manager. Second I now have actually poked a USB card into the
several ports and it was recognised...there hardly seemed to be any
point previously! Turns out that the dire USB warnings are for Other
Devices and now I have uninstalled them and all is now well....silly
me<G>

Richard,
I'm always glad to hear a success story! :-) We all make lots of
mistakes with these confounded machines. I'm still having trouble
finding anything which takes advantage of x64. I did download the new
Half Life 2 Win x64 version, and I am trying to get my son to play it.
