just got the above in the mail and no matter what video card or memory i put
in it it continually posts the processor and memory correctly and then
reboots, reboots , reboots, in a continious loop--have cleared cmos , taken
battery out , removed board from case ---same thing?? anyone have any idea
what the @#%@$#%2#$%@$@$%@% is going on or is the mobo defective? thank

to add to my above post , by the way , it is a 533 FSB socket 775 and 2.66

I've had bad ECS boards including the 848p from Fry's, always no post.
Fortunately I have a local store to get a replacement. Did you try w/o
hd? set bios to fail-safe, try different case/ps. I always have at
least 2 cases/ps to swap hardware.

thanks, but i could not even reach the cmos , tried diff power supplies ,mem
, video cards etc---they said they will exchange

i’d look at the psu possibly being the source of the problem. a
digital multimeter could help determining whether voltage is weak.

also you could try running the board out side of the case.

Did you ever get your ECS 848P-A7 Working? It is being advertised at Fry's for 109.99 with a 506 Processor and I was thinking of picking it up. What brand of memory were you using?

I have exactly the same problem with this MB. I've posted a question to esc tech support, so let see what they are going to say...
