make sure there are no devices plugged into them, and also remove |
any USB PCI card you may have installed into the board. If you
connected any wires from the case make sure they are properly done, they
can be confusing. |

My honest suggestion is to return that mobo ASAP. With my first build
attempt, I went throught the same thing with an older Dragon K7V
(different problems) and I kept the board and tried for weeks to make
it run. I never did succeed. By then the retailer wouldn't take it
back. Soyo tech eventually took the board for a "repair" (they wouldn't
refund, no way). After 6 days I was called by a Soyo tech. He said
they had duplicated the same problem, and they couldn't find the cause
either!!! So they sent me a replacement board. The first time I
hooked it up, it did exactly the same thing. By then I was so sick of
the whole thing, I literally tossed the board into my workshop garbage
bin and bought a Shuttle. First boot, it posted. Put in my old
hardddrive, 2nd time it booted straight into XP on my old drive, with
all cable and other drivers working 100%. I bumped the FSB up to 200,
and it has been great ever since. That is what a board is supposed to
do. Well, it was a learning experience, at least.
Since then I have built dozens of computers, got my MCP certification,
etc. NO board should do that. I suggest resetting your BIOS back to
factory default and try to boot. If that doesn't do it return the board
to your retailer and get an Asus before your return time expires. |

i have tried with absolutely no success from soyo about the problem with not
booting with usb equipment connected. i just disconnect my hubs and when the
windows logo appears i reconnect the hubs and im good to go. stupid way to
do things. i really think soyo is about to go under because service really
sucks with them right now.
