|
|
Hi All, I would like some assistance. I have an SS51G with a P4 1.8
processor currently. I bought a 478 pin P4 2.8A 533FSB processor
with 1MB Cache Core stepping C0 spec # is SL7D8. I have heard
numerous people say that this board only works with certain cpu’s
only. When i took out the 1.8 and installed the 2.8, I get nothing.
I don’t get beeps or nothing on the screen at all. When i try to hit
the power button to turn off it won’t turn off unless i pull the power
cord. Can someone please let me know what i’m doing wrong or if this
processor is not compatible.
I read somewhere out there that someone does have the same options
like me and it’s working fine for them. look below
SS51G Windows XP SP1
P4 3.06 533 Bus
1GB (2x512)Crucial PC2700 Memory
80GB WD 8MB Cache
Santa Cruz Audio
Hercules 9800 Pro 128MB
This is my LAN Party Box Strictly used for Gaming!
I have the latest bios as well. Is there a jumper switch i have to
reset? I have reset the bios to the optimized defaults and tried as
well but nothing. Is there something in the bios i’m missing? please
advise. Thanks

Go back and make sure the ATX connector is seated completely.

I thought you had to use the 512kb cache version vice the 1MB one.
I'd say ask Shuttle but they haven't answered a tech supt question on my
SS51G for the past 1.5 years. Its like they don't care.
