|
|
I recently got several SOYO P4VTE Barebones cases from
TigerDirect.com.
Components as follows:
Intel 3.0E GHz 1MB L2 Cache 800MHz FSB Socket 478
1024MB Corsair DDR XMS3200 series CL2 (2x512mb Dual Channel)
WD Caviar SE SATA HD 80GB
GeForce MX4000 64mb DDR graphics card
Systems went together pretty well, and Windows installed fine on the
prototype with ghosting proceeding pretty smoothly (rolling disk image
onto other machines).
Now occasionally I’ll get a BSOD on a couple of machines. I’ve seen
errors of 0x50A PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and 0x00A
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and some MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD too.
MEMTEST86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic tools both report errors on
those machines during Random Number memory tests. (IE Test #7 on
MEMTEST86)
So I pulled one unstable system and one seemingly stable setup.
I ran the diagnostics on a stable system and get no errors on those
tests. I then put ram from the stable system into one of the suspect
systems and still get the same error type (fails Test #7).
The same errors are also present when I use a known good CPU in the
suspect system.
I’ve tried using only 1 stick of DDR in the suspect system at a time,
but the same errors occur.
Should I try to get an RMA for the motherboard(s) that experience
these issues?
Are there any other tests I should run to try and diagnose a different
cause of these errors?
