|
|
I just built an AMD64 3500+ on an Epox Mobo 9NDA3+ ....I had all aort of
problems with it the first night and thought the board was bad. I had 2
sticks of Crucial DDR400 512MB each....I fought and fought till I finally
gave up. I called in the next day to get a RMA on the board. While I was
pulling all the cords and stuff, I decided to pull the Ram out of another
computer....2 sticks of DDR333 512MB each. I threw those in and all of a
sudden I have no problems at all.. I get WinXP loaded and its fast as hell
and im prety happy. And I thru the DDDR400in my other computer. And that one
is running fine. Now I decide to swap the RAM back tonight just to see if I
was going nuts or something. Sure enought, the DDR400 will not run in the
new Eppox board without the BSOD....I reseated the ram a few times and
nothing...I have everything set to auto. So I end up puttin the DDDR333 in
there and she runs fine. It takes DDR400 and thats the way I want it to
run....what in the world am I doing wrong. You guys know alot more than
most of the guys I have talked to.
Any ideas. Anyone have experience with this board. I have the ram in the
same colored socket. I even tried it over in the other set of sockets. Same
thing, It just dosnt want o run on DDR400,,,,does that make any sense at
all.....Im going nuts with this. TheDDR 400 runs fine on another Epox Mobo
with a 2800 Athlon on it. But it wont wok with this new mobo and Ahlon
3500+Venice.....Any clue at all what I could be doing wrong. The processor
speed shows up at 2200....I believe all settiing sre correct. It cant be bad
RAM beause it runs absolutely fine in another machine. ANd the Ram from the
other machine runs in this one. I cant make heads or tails out of this???? I
have neve had any problems with
Crucial Ram and having been running it in probably 30 different computer
over the past 8 years. Anybody Thanks in advance...JAKE |

I noticed that in several Epox boards that there is a multplier for ram |
in the bios. I am running a 333fsb processor along with PC3200 memory. I
adjusted the multiplier to run the memory at 400fsb. Perhaps this may be
of some help. |
