I recently bought a new pc at a local store..i had the pc assembled there. After that, I went home and installed WinXP professional and the drivers for the motherboard and video card..however, there was a problem. After i installed the driver for the video card(Inno3D GF4 MX440 128ddr tv-out 8x 128bit), after restarting, suddenly, my cd-rom is unable to read cds anymore. Weird thing is the cd-rom drive can still be detected by the motherboard. Even in xp, the cd-rom drive is still on display but when i put cds into it, it can no longer read them. How will i fix this? Thanks for anyone who's willing to help..

I've seen your topic posted and really didn't look. What you say is happening is pretty impossible, assuming your ROM drive is working and properly hooked up.

That said, check out your new video driver software. If it came bundled with a music player, or DVD player; one of these might be the culprit.
