Tyan K8W S2885 has a serious flaw: The IDE connectors are on the bottom of
the motherboard so it is impossible to use a high density IDE cable for the
newer DVD's because the high density cables are only 18 inches. If you use
longer than 18 inches IDE cable, the DVD work you've spent so much time on
becomes a coaster.
My question is: Which case can you use with the above motherboard that will
enable you to use the high density 18 inch IDE cable with the 5 1/4 inch
drives? |

It looks like the board layout was designed more for a rack mounted case
than a mid tower unit.
